SpiceJet, which launched its first domestic freighter service in the name of SpiceXpress on the Delhi - Bengaluru route on 18 September 2018 and subsequently on routes to Amritsar and Guwahati from Delhi using B737-700F, plans to launch its first commercial low-cost cargo service to Kabul on 15 October 2018.
SpiceJet signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce & Industries on 13 September 2018 to supply 1500 tons of cargo mainly perishables between Kabul and India using SpiceXpress B737-700F. The cargo will reach 47 cities in India through SpiceJet route network.
The Delhi- Kabul route is the world's first low-cost freighter route to be operated on an "incremental direct operating cost model" according to SpiceJet.
After Kabul, SpiceXpress will launch scheduled cargo flights to Hong Kong from Delhi on the heels of SpiceJet's first scheduled flight to Hong Kong on 22 November 2018. SpiceXpress web-site under development will highlight its cargo flight details in due course.
SpiceXpress is the freighter business unit under SpiceJet Limited. On lease from Spectre Cargo, its first B737-700F is converted by Israel Aerospace Industries' Bedek Aviation Group from former Xiamen Airlines B737-700 passenger aircraft ex B-2998 and it is named "Bolt".
SpiceJet has an order for 4 freighter aircraft. It aims to operate these aircraft by March 2019 in the name of SpiceXpress. It plans to operate freighter services to 60 domestic cities in India by 2019 and by 2022 to touch down in 150 airports across India, Asia and Europe.

The courier services in Mumbai also apply freight charges according to the weight of the packages.
