SilkAir has moved up to the category of Five Star Major Regional Airlines in the APEX Official Airline Ratings for the year 2019 while Hainan Airlines is listed for the first time in the same category. Air Astana and Bangkok Airways remain their positions in Five Star Major Regional Airlines in Asia.
Four Star Major Regional Airlines in Asia for 2019 include Gulf Air, Hong Kong Airlines, Jet Airways, Malindo Air, Middle East Airlines, Oman Air, Philippine Airlines, Royal Brunei Airlines, Royal Jordanian Airlines and SriLankan Airlines. Cathay Dragon is ousted from the list.
All Nippon Airways, Asiana Airlines, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, Emirates, EVA Air, Garuda Indonesia, Japan Airlines, Korean Air, Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines are rated Five Star Global Airlines in Asia. Four Star Global Airlines in the continent are China Southern, EL AL Israel Airlines, Thai Airways International and Vietnam Airlines.
There are no five star low-cost carriers unfortunately for 2019. Four Star Low Cost Carriers include Citilink, IndiGo, Jetstar Japan and Thai AirAsia, of which IndiGo appears here for the first time. AirAsia, Jetstar Asia and Scoot Tigerair Pte Ltd are ousted for the first time.
APEX, partnered with Triplt from Concur, the world's highest-rated travel-organizing application, gathered anonymous passenger feedback based on verified travel itineraries. Using a five-star scale, more than 1 million flights were rated by passengers from around the world between 1 July 2017 and 30 June 2018.
