Lao budget airline opens the world's first permanent ticket stall in Bangkok with plan to switch to Don Mueang

Lao budget airline Lao Central Airlines has shifted out of The Offices at CentralWorld to the fourth floor of CentralWorld Shopping Centre of Bangkok where it operates a permanent ticket stall, the first of its kind for an airline company in the world.

The ticket stall of Lao Central Airlines looks like an open computer accessories stall where Lao Central Airlines showcases its aircraft model and posters besides conducting ticket sales on the spot. The ticket stall concept emerges as the Lao airline is drastically reducing office operation expenditures endeavouring to provide better customer services in Bangkok. Lao Central Airlines took the stall's cue from two small Bangkok travel agents operating travel stalls on the same level.

The online web-site of Lao Central Airlines has been known to generate two invoices for one booking, resulting in questionable online booking. Opening a ticket stall in a shopping centre solves the problem as the customer is able to buy a ticket without worry of double-booking.

As part of measures to reduce operation costs and fend off competition from Lao Airlines, the sales staff at Lao Central Airlines ticket stall reveals that the budget airline plans to switch to Don Mueang Airport in June 2014 also as Suvarnabhumi Airport is becoming very crowded for aircraft landings. It currently has the airport office in Suvarnabhumi.

Depending on cost considerations, Lao Central Airlines plans to introduce the ticket stall concept to future cities which the airline anticipates to fly to, including Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.

Lao Central Airlines flies daily from Vientiane to Suvarnabhumi using a B737-400 aircraft and from Vientiane to Luang Prabang using a Sukhoi Super Jet 100 aircraft.
