深圳航空首架A350“鲲鹏号”正式入列

On 30 June 2026, the inauguration ceremony of Shenzhen Airlines' first Airbus A350 aircraft was grandly held at Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport. Leaders from the Shenzhen Municipal Government, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAC) Central and Southern Regional Administration, and China National Aviation Holding Company (CNAH) attended the ceremony.

The inauguration ceremony was themed "Building Shenzhen, Showcasing the Future." As the hangar doors slowly opened, the A350 aircraft, adorned with the "Kunpeng" livery, made its official debut. The fuselage design centers on the "Kunpeng," cleverly echoing Shenzhen's nickname, "Pengcheng" (meaning "Peng City"). It incorporates elements of local Lingnan intangible cultural heritage such as the Ao fish, the Shatoujiao fish lantern dance, and the kirin (a mythical creature), along with innovative symbols of robots and drones, creating a dynamic and fluid visual effect through the curved surfaces of the fuselage. The entire aircraft, transformed into a "Kunpeng in the sky," soars into the clouds, carrying the city's vision and cultural warmth, connecting life and the future through aviation.

Shenzhen Airlines' new Airbus A350 wide-body aircraft officially enters commercial operation on 1 July 2026. On its inaugural flight, the aircraft operates on two express routes: Shenzhen-Beijing Capital and Shenzhen-Shanghai Hongqiao, with a total of four round-trip flights. This aircraft type enables ultra-long-distance flights, giving Shenzhen Airlines a stable and scalable capacity for direct long-haul intercontinental routes, better meeting the growing demand for high-quality travel.

As the operator of the Shenzhen International Aviation Hub, Shenzhen Airlines has been rooted in Shenzhen for over 30 years, currently operating over 200 aircraft and more than 380 domestic and international routes (including Kunming Airlines). The introduction of the A350 is a key step in strengthening strategic cooperation between China National Aviation Holding Company (CNAH) and the Shenzhen Municipal Government, serving the construction of Shenzhen as a comprehensive international aviation hub. Shenzhen Airlines will leverage Shenzhen's geographical advantages to fly south, towards the Belt and Road Initiative, and towards global central cities, becoming a crucial support for Shenzhen's goal of "building a more globally influential economic center and a modern international metropolis."

2026 marks the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan and coincides with the APEC meeting being held in Shenzhen, a historic convergence of major national diplomatic events and urban development opportunities.

Shenzhen Airlines stated that it will use the commissioning of its new aircraft as an opportunity to serve the construction of the Greater Bay Area and the Shenzhen Pilot Demonstration Zone, optimize its international route network, continue the aviation-cultural and tourism integration model, and promote Shenzhen's city image through in-flight media and overseas outlets. As a local Shenzhen airline brand and an "airborne business card" for the city's international exchanges, Shenzhen Airlines bears the important responsibility of connecting Shenzhen with the world, showcasing Shenzhen's urban character through meticulous and heartwarming service. The commissioning of the "Kunpeng" A350 aircraft will provide more comfortable and convenient air service guarantees for personnel exchanges and economic and trade exchanges during the APEC meeting.

From "Shenzhen" to "Kunpeng," Shenzhen Airlines is using increasingly rich cultural expressions to take Shenzhen's city brand to the skies and soar to the world. In the future, "Kunpeng" will serve as a new calling card showcasing Shenzhen's city image, flying to more cities and regions, promoting the Shenzhen city brand, and allowing more domestic and international travelers to experience Shenzhen's innovative vitality and cultural charm.

According to Shenzhen Airlines, another A350-900neo, which is in standard livery, has just joined the fleet but it has not yet been deployed on a commercial route from Shenzhen.
