Air Niugini launches twice-weekly scheduled flight from Port Moresby to Shanghai Pudong on 23 October 2018 using B767-300ER aircraft. It has resumed non-stop flight service from Port Moresby to Narita since 6 October 2018 using B737-800 aircraft.
On 23 October 2018, Air Niugini flight PX088 departs from Port Moresby for Pudong at 7.40 pm, touches down in Pudong at 1 am before leaving Pudong for Port Moresby at 2.30 am and arriving in Port Moresby at 11.50 am under flight PX089.
Air Niugini flies to Pudong on Tuesdays and Fridays. It returns to Port Moresby on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Passengers from Port Moresby/Pudong on these days need not transit in Hong Kong or Singapore for connecting flights to Pudong/Port Moresby.
Since 6 October 2018, flight PX054 departs on Saturdays for Narita at 2.40 pm, arrives in Narita at 8.25 pm before leaving Narita for Port Moresby at 9.35 pm and touching down in Port Moresby at 5.25 am under flight PX055.
