The Japanese and Taiwanese civil aviation authorities have approved Scoot, Singapore's long-haul budget airline, to operate scheduled flights from Singapore to Osaka via Don Mueang and Kaohsiung six times a week from 8 July 2015.

Scoot's flights to Osaka via Don Mueang take place on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays while its flights to Osaka via Kaohsiung take off on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. These flights are operated by Scoot's all-new B787-900 Dreamliner aircraft.

The first Scoot's flight to Osaka routes via Don Mueang on 8 July 2015 (Wednesday) when flight TZ298 departs from Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2 at 9.05 am, transits in Don Mueang at 10.10 am before departing for Osaka at 11.30 am and touching down in Osaka at 6.50 pm.

The first Scoot's outbound flight from Osaka leaves the airport at 8.25 pm on 8 July, transits in Don Mueang at 12.05 pm before taking off for the sky at 1.15 pm and returning to Singapore at 4.40 am on 9 July 2015 under flight TZ297.

The second Scoot's flight to Osaka routes via Kaohsiung on 9 July 2015 when flight TZ288 departs from Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2 at 6.15 am, transits in Kaohsiung at 10.25 am before departing for Osaka at 11.35 am and touching down in Osaka at 3.15 pm.

The second Scoot's outbound flight from Osaka leaves the airport at 4.15 pm on 9 July, transits in Don Mueang at 6.55 pm before departing for Singapore at 8.05 pm and arriving in Singapore at 12.25 am on 10 July 2015 under flight TZ287.

The Japanese and Taiwanese civil aviation authorities have not yet approved Scoot's plans to operate flights to Sapporo via Don Mueang on 8 July 2015 under flight TZ298 on the Singapore - Don Mueang - Sapporo routes and flight TZ297 on the routes vice versa. Scoot will keep the media advised on the actual flight schedules of these routes.

Scoot is selling fares to Osaka via Don Mueang from 99 Singapore Dollars one way and to Osaka via Kaohsiung one way from 228 Singapore Dollars. However, these prices are not consistent.

Scoot is the only airline that most frequently sells tickets at fluctuating prices like a stock exchange with intermittent short-lived sale promotions on Tuesdays and Fridays although these prices hit its pocket a lot as it now manages a fleet of 3 B787-900 Dreamliner widebodies with additional orders for 7 more B787-900 and 10 B787-800 jets. Its fleet of B777-200ER aircraft are being taken over by NokScoot.

Customers will find it difficult to pinpont at the date with the cheapest Scoot fares, if they intended to book tickets nearer to or eight months away from their desired departure dates, subject to changes in their itinerary plans.

Hainan Airlines, founding member of Hainan Aviation Group (HNA), launched GX Airlines, Guangxi's first airline headquartered in Nanning, on 13 February 2015, with the latter's inaugural scheduled flight from Nanning to Haikou at 10.05 am using an EMB190 aircraft leased from Tianjin Airlines (Hainan Airlines' Tianjin-based subsidiary) after GX Airlines received its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) on the same day.  The EMB190 aircraft first arrived in Nanning from Tianjin in GX Airlines' livery on 1 February.

The name GX Airlines is the commercial name in short for Guangxi Beibu Gulf Airlines Co., Ltd, which was formed by Tianjin Airlines and Guangxi Beibu Gulf Investments Group in Nanning. Tianjin Airlines has a seventy per cent stake (21 billion yuan) in GX Airlines while Guangxi Beibu Gulf Investments Group has a thirty per cent stake (9 billion yuan) in the new airline.

The logo of GX Airlines is a stylized wave-shaped abbreviation GX short for Guangxi written with a Chinese brush while the hibiscus red colour of its aircraft livery symbolizes the passion, friendliness and warmth of the Guangxi residents.

GX Airlines has plans to increase its current fleet of 5 EMB190 aircraft to 10 in 2015 and is gradually launching new flights on the following routes this summer, Nanning - Jinjiang - Yiwu, Nanning - Zhengzhou - Hohhot and Nanning - Mianyang - Yinchuan. Currently, GX Airlines flies from Nanning to Haikou (departing Haikou at 8.05 pm daily), Sanya (morning flight), to Linxi via Changsha, to Tianjin via Yichang and to Xi'An via Bijie, a town in Guizhou Province.

GX Airlines also has plans to launch international flights to two Southeast Asian capitals by end of this year to facilitate Guangxi Nanning's flourishing trade and tourist traffic with Southeast Asia. Capitals under consideration include Bangkok, Vientiane, Hanoi, Singapore and Phnom Penh.

GX Airlines is the third domestic airline launched by Hainan Airlines within a year, after Urumqi Air (August 2014) and Fuzhou Airlines (in October 2014). Hainan Airlines also plans to launch Guilin Airlines before end of 2015.

The inflight magazine of GX Airlines is High Above, the inflight magazine also available onboard other HNA Airlines (Hainan Airlines, Changan Airlines, Shanxi Airlines, Grand China Air, West Air, Lucky Air, Deer Jet, Beijing Capital Airlines, Hongkong Airlines, Tianjin Airlines, Urumqi Air, Fuzhou Airlines and soon-to-be-launched Guilin Airlines).

In the late 1990s, Guangxi Province had a short-lived domestic airline known as Guangxi Airlines, which was absorbed by Guangzhou-headquartered China Southern Airlines, renamed as China Southern Airlines Guangxi Company Limited and marketed in the name of China Southern.
