Qamdo Bamda Airport (Airport Code: BPX) is located in the narrow valley of the west bank of the Jade River in the Dongchang City, Tibet. It is more than 4,300 metres above sea level. The high altitude airport has a runway length of 5 kilometres. It is located 2 hours 30 minutes by car away from the county-level city of Qamdo. The complex environment in which it is located raises higher professional requirements for West Air crews who fly to the destination.

As the first airline in China to pass the CCAR-121-R5 supplementary operation certification, West Air has established a safe flight of more than 600,000 flight hours since its establishment, and has effectively implemented the important instructions of the General Secretary of the internship on the safety of the civil aviation safety bottom line and zero tolerance for safety hazards. This provides strong technical support and security for the opening of the Chongqing - Qamdo route.

The relevant person in charge of West Air said that West Air will further open up new routes, which will increase the density of routes, provide more convenient and faster transportation, and bring more and better air transportation services to the people of Qamdo.
