On 8 January 2019, Tibet Airlines' Jinan - Helsinki, Jinan - Lhasa new route conference was held in Jinan. From 8 April 2019, Tibet Airlines launches flights linking Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport with Helsinki and Lhasa on Mondays and Thursdays.

Jinan - Helsinki is the fifth intercontinental route of Jinan Airport, and Tibet Airlines is the first airline in China to fly to Finland. For this reason, Tibet Airlines will use the Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft to fly, and its full cabin is equipped with the most advanced The EX3AVOD entertainment system. More spacious cabin space and safer onboard equipment will provide a safer and more comfortable experience for long-haul flights. At the same time, the Nordic four-country boutique tour products brought by the market, as well as a large number of special air tickets, will inject new vitality into the Shandong tourism market, and also bring more travel choices for the Shandong people. The route will change the situation in which passengers in Jinan must transit through other cities and take up to ten hours to travel to Finland, reducing the air time between the two places to about ten hours.

In addition, as an important province for aiding Tibet, Shandong has always assisted Shigatse City in Tibet. The upcoming Jinan-Lhasa route will further shorten the air distance between Shandong and Tibet to three and a half hours, which will greatly contribute to traffic flows, political and economic exchanges between the two cities.

Tibet Airlines is the first high-altitude airline in China. Its operating base is Lhasa Gongga Airport, with a fleet of 31 aircraft and more than 60 routes including international routes to Koh Samui and Kathmandu. It is a regional airline.
