FlyBosnia, based in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has obtained the Aviation Operation License (AOC) issued by the Bosnia and Herzegovina Civil Aviation Authority, and soon it will start commercial flight operations.
FlyBosnia's only aircraft, the Airbus A319, has undergone test flights several times from Sarajevo to Tuzla and Banja Luka (the second largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina). FlyBosnia President Chris Gabriel said: "The AOC granted to us is the final step in the launch operation of FlyBosnia."
The airline said it would review numerous charter requests in the coming weeks and begin applying for flight slots at airports.
FlyBosnia was formed by the Al Shiddi Group of Saudi Arabia and will initially operate flights on the Sarajevo-Riyadh route, followed by Middle East and Europe routes, such as London, Paris, Frankfurt, Rome and Moscow.
To date, the Al Shiddi Group has invested more than 20 million Euros in FlyBosnia, which currently has about 20 crew members and 8 pilots.
Initially, FlyBosnia will operate as a charter flight operator and will launch scheduled flights in the future.
