The annual charter Ulaanbaatar flight to Singapore ends on 15 June 2019 but many Singaporeans and Mongolians are upbeat about the company growth and plans of MIAT Mongolian Airlines.

According to MIAT Mongolian Airlines' official flight status, flight OM7701 departs from Ulaanbaatar for Singapore at 7.40 am on 15 June 2019 and arrives in Changi Airport Terminal 3 at 2.46 pm, 14 minutes ahead of scheduled time at 3 pm.

Due to late passenger arrivals at Gate A9 of Terminal 3 and heavy outbound air traffic, the outbound flight OM7702 was re-timed to leave Gate A9 at 5.30 pm, 1 hour 30 minutes behind schedule (intended time at 4 pm). However, it only takes off for Ulaanbaatar at 7.14 pm and lands in Ulaanbaatar at 2.20 am on 16 June 2019.

According to Changi Airport, flight OM7702 on 15 June 2019 is fully-booked by Mongolian passengers.

MIAT Mongolian Airlines first operates the direct charter flight of 2019 to Singapore on 8 June.

During the Singaporean passengers' week-long charter flight holidays in Mongolia, MIAT Mongolian Airlines has also launched charter flight to Bishkek with the returning flight OM902 departing from Bishkek at 7.50 pm and landing in Ulaanbaatar on 14 June 2019 at 11.55 pm using a B737 aircraft.

On 11 June 2019, MIAT Mongolian Airlines revealed to Montsame, the national newspaper of Mongolia, in a press release featured by AmCham Mongolia that it has successfully passed an FAA International Aviation Safety Assessment audit and is now working to earn the FAA Category I compliant rating.

Further to the above, MIAT has to work on improving the airline's workforce, technical expertise and operational security to fully qualify for FAA assessments. These are crucial steps that must be completed before it can qualify to apply to the US civil aviation authority for future flights to the US.

MIAT Mongolian Airlines plans to start commercial flights to the US by 2021. Vice Director of MIAT, Ganbold N,, said the airline is "receiving a new aircraft by October 2019". He did not specify whether the aircraft is a Dreamliner.

In 2015, Ganbold revealed to MIAT Mongolian Airlines Inflight Magazine that the airline has plan to acquire a B787 Dreamliner from Boeing within 2 to 3 years  (by 2019) in order to launch future non-stop flights to Singapore, Frankfurt, London and New York.
