Indonesia AirAsia launches Lombok - Perth route on 9 June 2019

Indonesia AirAsia has launched its fifth air hub in Indonesia, on the island of Lombok, on 2 May 2019 with two Airbus A320 aircraft taxiing overnight at Lombok's Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport. On 9 June 2019, one of the A320 aircraft, registered PK-AXU, launches Lombok's route to Perth.

On 9 June 2019, Indonesia AirAsia flight QZ470 departs from Lombok for Perth at 2.45 pm, arrives in Perth at 6.40 pm before leaving Perth for Lombok at 7.30 pm and touching down in Lombok at 11.25 pm under flight QZ471. 

Indonesia AirAsia flies to Perth from Lombok on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. It also flies from Lombok to KLIA, Sepang, twice daily from 8 May 2019.

According to Indonesia AirAsia, Lombok is its fifth air hub after Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta  International Airport (Cengkareng), Surabaya, Denpasar and Kualanamu. 

The aircraft PK-AXU features symbolic hotspots of Lombok including Mount Rinjani and the ocean biodiversity of the Gili Islands on its livery. Besides the Lombok - Perth route, this aircraft will also operate domestic flights from Lombok to Cengkareng, Denpasar and Yogyakarta.
