The first low-cost airline of Kazakhstan, FlyArystan, meaning "Flying Lion", successfully completed its first official flight.

According to the Kazakhstan Civil Aviation Commission, FlyArystan's A320 flight on the Almaty - Nur-Sultan route arrived in Nur-Sultan in the afternoon of 1 May 2019.

FlyArystan conducted its test flight on 21 April 2019.

From 1 May 2019, FlyArystan will operate services on six domestic routes, namely Almaty - Nur-Sultan, Almaty - Karaganda, Almaty - Taraz, Almaty - Ural, Almaty - Pavlodar and Almaty - Shymkent. Ticket prices range from 3,999 Tenge to 12,999 Tenge. By 2023, the low-cost airline subsidiary of Air Astana hopes to launch at least 54 routes.

Compared with full-service airlines, the price of a FlyArystan ticket will be 2 to 2.5 times cheaper. The difference is that the cheap ticket does not provide inflight catering and free checked baggage service. Only carry-on hand luggage that meets the specifications is covered.
