Air Seychelles has adjusted its route network as it prepares to receive its first A320neo aircraft in July 2019. The highlights on its regional network are as follows:-

Air Seychelles flies daily to Johannesburg from Mahe from 3 June 2019 with new flight to be operated on Mondays.

Air Seychelles flies six times a week to Mumbai from Mahe from 12 May 2019 with new Sunday service.

It resumes seasonal flights to Antananarivo from 3 July 2019 until 26 October 2019.

From 11 May 2019, Air Seychelles will suspend its Abu Dhabi flight service. Passengers affected are being refunded or will be transferred to Etihad Airways' flights from Mahe for free.

The new A320neo of Air Seychelles to be received in July 2019 is equipped with 168 seats and will enable the airline to increase capacities across its regional network while at the same time delivering significant fuel savings.

As of 6 May 2019, Air Seychelles' fleet comprises of 2 A320 and 5 DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft.

Jean Weeling-Lee, Chairman of Air Seychelles, said the restructure of its route network and  acquisition of the A320neo aircraft are part of a number of revenue-generating initiatives and key projects in 2019.

Other revenue-generating initiatives and key projects focus on strengthening non-flight areas of the business including the ground-handling, cargo-handling and engineering services which have been a major source of revenue for the airline over the past year, given the increasing number of airlines operating to Mahe.

"To sustain Air Seychelles' current and future growth it is important that we continue to review the operational and organisational efficiency of our business," Jean Weeling-Lee said.
