Vietjet Air signs MOU to order 100 A321neo jets with option for 50 more
Vietjet Air, Vietnam’s largest private airline, has signed a Memorandum Of Understanding with Airbus to order 100 single-aisle A321neo aircraft, including a possible order for 50 more of the same type in the future.
Vietjet currently operates more than 100 Airbus aircraft and is continuously expanding its global route network and modernizing its fleet.
The Airbus A321neo is the largest member of Airbus’ best-selling A320neo family of aircraft, with excellent range capabilities and excellent performance. Thanks to the application of new-generation engines and sharklet winglets, the A321neo can reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by at least 20% compared to the previous generation of single-aisle aircraft. At the same time, the wider cabin in the single-aisle aircraft provides passengers with greater comfort.
Like all Airbus aircraft, the A321neo can fly on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) with a blend ratio of up to 50%. Airbus is committed to achieving 100% SAF fuel for all aircraft products by 2030.
As of the end of May 2025, the A321neo has received more than 7,000 orders from more than 90 customers worldwide.

COMAC exhibits at 2025 Paris Air Show
On 16 June 2025, the 55th Paris Air Show officially opened at the Le Bourget Exhibition Center in Paris, France. Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. ("COMAC") exhibited the basic aircraft models of C909, C919 and C929, as well as the derivative aircraft models of C909 and C919 to the public. During the air show, COMAC signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the C929 project with Safran and Crane.
The C909 aircraft has a passenger capacity of 78-97 seats and a range of 2225-3700 km. It has good take-off and landing performance and crosswind resistance at airports such as short and narrow runways, high temperatures, and plateaus. The C919 aircraft has a passenger capacity of 158-192 seats and a range of 4075-5555 kilometers. It adopts advanced aerodynamic design, propulsion system and materials, with lower carbon emissions and higher fuel efficiency, which can meet the operational needs of airlines for different routes. The C929 aircraft has a range of about 12,000 kilometers, and the basic model has 280 seats. It is in the design stage.
COMAC has always been customer-centric, providing customers with all-round support and services to ensure the smooth operation of route aircraft. So far, COMAC has delivered a total of 20 C919 aircraft and 165 C909 aircraft. Since the beginning of this year, C909 aircraft has added two new customers, Lao Airlines and Vietjet Air, and has been put into commercial operation. So far, three Southeast Asian airlines, including TransNusa, have used C909 aircraft to open 15 routes and fly to 18 cities.
COMAC actively integrates into the sustainable development process of the global aviation industry and strives to develop "green aircraft". At present, both C909 and C919 aircraft have the ability to use SAF fuel with a maximum blending ratio of 50% for commercial operation, which can meet customers' green, low-carbon and environmentally friendly use needs.
COMAC will unswervingly practice the concept of open cooperation, and look forward to establishing a closer and deeper cooperative relationship with global customers and partners, jointly promoting the prosperity and development of the civil aviation transportation industry, and better serving the travel needs of air passengers.
