On 11 June 2025, Jetstar Asia announces on Facebook that it is ceasing flight operations from Singapore Changi Airport with effect from 31 July 2025. The news of the sudden closure has hit travelers and the local airline industry hard.

Below is Jetstar Asia's announcement:-

"It is with great sadness we announce the difficult decision has been made to permanently close Jetstar Asia (3K) from 31 July 2025.

This follows a review of Jetstar Asia (3K), which has been increasingly challenged in recent years by escalating costs in the region it operates in.

Jetstar Asia's (3K) flights will continue to operate a progressively reduced schedule until 31 July 2025 and we will contact all impacted customers directly with a full refund or an alternative flight where possible.

This is incredibly difficult news for our Jetstar Asia team members and customers, and the Jetstar Group is committed to providing support during this time with a range of options in place for those impacted.

The decision does not impact any Jetstar Airways (JQ) flights, including international flights between Australia and Southeast Asia, or any Jetstar Japan (GK) flights."

Jetstar Asia is the current major flight operator at Changi Airport Terminal 4. With the cancellations of Jetstar Asia's flights from Terminal 4, the airport is losing passenger flows to other low-cost carrier terminals such as KLIA Terminal 2 and Don Mueang Airport and local travelers will face higher ticket prices in the months to come.

The airport will also have to look out for potential airlines to take up the slots of destinations left behind by Jetstar Asia. For instance, Scoot could launch flight to Wuxi, which was previously served by Tigerair while Peach Aviation could consider launching scheduled flight to Changi from Naha, Okinawa.

Jetstar Asia's company closure follows the operation withdrawals of Pacific Airlines, HK Express, Greater Bay Airlines and GX Airlines from Changi Airport Terminal 4. After the airline shutdown, only Hainan Airlines, Tianjin Airlines, West Air, Loong Air, Spring Airlines, Juneyao Air, Korean Air, Jeju Air, Aero Dili, AirAsia Group of Airlines, Vietjet Air and Cathay Pacific Airways are operating flights from Terminal 4.
