Air Peace, the largest airline in Nigeria and West Africa, has received its first E195-E2 aircraft on 28 January 2021. The aircraft flew to Nigeria from Embraer's factory in São José dos Campos and joined Air Peace's fleet of 8 ERJ145 aircraft.

Air Peace is the launch global startup user of E195-E2 in Africa. The aircraft they purchased is the latest, most efficient, and most comfortable aircraft in the same class; at the same time, they also selected Embraer's highly innovative advanced staggered seat design to become the aircraft with this configuration.

The aircraft delivered on 28 January is the first of the 13 E195-E2 confirmed orders of Air Peace, in addition to the purchase rights of 17 aircraft announced in March 2019 and the purchase rights announced at the Dubai Air Show in November 2019. The total value of the three confirmed orders converted is 2.2 billion US dollars. The aircraft is configured in a comfortable two-cabin layout with a total of 124 seats.

Allen Onyema, Chairman and CEO of Air Peace, said: "E195-E2 is the perfect choice to expand our domestic and regional operations. We understand the extraordinary economic performance of the aircraft and its unique configuration. That’s why we ordered this aircraft. Peace Air will become the first airline in Africa to operate this aircraft, which is also a historic feat."

The E195-E2 aircraft will help Air Peace further realize its ambition to connect the entire Nigeria with Africa and beyond from its Lagos hub.

Cesar Pereira, Vice President of Commercial Aircraft Europe, Middle East and Africa of Embraer, said, “Delivering high-quality aircraft to customers is what everyone in Embraer wants. Under the current circumstances, For each of us, this is undoubtedly a boost. We are working hard to adapt to the ever-changing external environment. This is an excellent start of the year for all members of Peace Aviation and Embraer."

Air Peace operates scheduled flights in Nigeria and West Africa. The new E195-E2 can achieve the goal on the premise of making prices affordable and airline profitable, while also bringing an excellent travel experience to travellers. The E2 will operate flights from Lagos to Dubai (opened in 2019) and Johannesburg (launched in December 2020).
