Eastar Jet has been approved by CAAC in 2019 to launch scheduled flights from Busan to Yanji, from Jeju to Harbin and Pudong and from Incheon to Zhengzhou and Pudong.
While flights to Pudong from Incheon were launched recently, Eastar Jet is planning to launch flights to Yanji, Harbin and Zhengzhou later this year. It has been authorized to operate three weekly flights to Yanji from Busan, three weekly flights from Jeju to Harbin, four weekly flights to Zhengzhou and seven daily flights from Jeju to Pudong on a scheduled basis.
With the increase in flights to China, Eastar Jet is ordering more B737-800 aircraft besides the 4 737 MAX 8 aircraft. Its fleet will reach a target of 25 B737-800 aircraft by end of 2020, 30 B737 jets by end of 2021 and by 2025 to a fleet of 60 B737 aircraft.
According to Eastar Jet, the increase in the number of B737 aircraft including 737 MAX 8 will be used to launch new long-haul routes from Busan to Singapore, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta, Denpasar and Darwin. It hopes to launch non-stop flight to Singapore as soon as the 737 MAX 8 is allowed to resume flights globally by January 2020.
