Myanmar National Airlines is launching non-stop direct flight from Port Moresby to Yangon on 3 October 2020. The new route is part of an extension route from Sydney. The airline has conducted its first relief flight to Sydney from Yangon on 3 August 2020.
According to schedules released by Myanmar National Airlines, flight UB9802 departs from Sydney for Port Moresby at 9 am, arrives in Port Moresby at 12.50 pm before leaving Port Moresby non-stop for Yangon at 2.20 pm and touching down in Yangon at 9.25 pm.
The 3 October 2020 flight will be the first time Myanmar has an air transportation link with a Pacific country outside Australia.
Netizens in response left messages on Facebook, suggesting the Myanmar national flag carrier to launch flights to Dubai and other cities where there are significant numbers of Burmese workers.
In fact, on 8 September 2020, Myanmar National Airlines launched its first flight, a relief flight, to Cairo non-stop from Yangon using its B737-800, marking the route the longest route ever flown by a B737-800.
According to schedules, on 8 September, flight UB9601 leaves Yangon for Cairo at 7 am, reaches Cairon at 12.45 pm before departing from Cairo for Yangon at 4 pm and touching down in Yangon at 7.10 am on 9 September 2020 under flight UB9602.
