On 9 January 2020, Starlux Airlines has announced that its founder Zhang Guowei will host the inaugural flight ceremonies at Taoyuan before he pilots the second flight to and from Macau on 23 January 2020, which are flight JX203 and JX204.

Prior to the announcement a month ago, the media were informed that Zhang Guowei might not pilot the aircraft as he had to host the inaugural flight ceremonies and he would be very busy on 23 January. However a week ago, it was planned that the founder would pilot flight JX205 and JX206 to and from Macau. Later, the pilot roaster list was amended on 9 January to allow Guowei to pilot JX203 and JX204 instead.

Flight JX203 departs from Taoyuan for Macau at 1.15 pm while flight JX204 arrives in Taoyuan at 5.55 pm. Guowei has decided to pilot these flights to assure the public the A321neo's service quality as a reliable and safe jet.

Starlux Airlines has received its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and is going ahead with plans to launch three flights to Macau, two flights to Danang and one flight to Penang on 23 January 2020. These flights are operated daily.

23 January 2020 is the unforgettable inaugural flight operations day of Starlux Airlines. Customers who have booked the flights that are not piloted by Zhang Guowei for departures on this date should feel honoured and be joyful for completing the new page in Taiwan's civil aviation development.
