The first domestic flight of Juneyao Air's second 787-9 on 8 December 2018

On 8 December 2018, Juneyao Air flight HO1119 took off from Shanghai Hongqiao at 8.40 am and landed in Chengdu at 11.38 am. The Shanghai Hongqiao - Chengdu route is the first domestic route of Juneyao Air's second 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft (Registration No. B-207N).

Cabin layout



Juneyao Air's Boeing 787 aircraft has a two-cabin layout with a total of 29 first-class full-lying flat seats in a 1-2-1 seat layout, providing 42 inches of front and rear spacing for passengers while maintaining privacy. First Class passengers can also enjoy an array of advanced features such as an open bar storage space, a woody handrail dining table, a full leather massage seat and noise canceling headphones. Each First Class passenger is also equipped with a pair of earplugs and an eye patch.

The Economy Class is equipped with 295 human engineering seats, with a 3-3-3 seat layout and a maximum spacing of 32 inches. Each Economy Class passenger can enjoy a nine-way adjustable headrest that can be adjusted up and down. Inverted inward, each seat is also equipped with a USB charging interface.


Food Menus of Business Class and Economy Class



On the morning flight on the morning of the maiden voyage, the breakfast menu prepared for the Business Class passengers includes Chinese and Western options. The Chinese breakfast includes pork rolls, cabbage pork dumplings, boat porridge, Laoganma sour beans and Seasonal fruit while Western breakfast consists of cereal and yoghurt, scrambled eggs with chives, chicken breast, potato horns and vegetables, and seasonal fruits. The breakfast menu in the Economy Class is also divided into Chinese and Western styles. The Chinese breakfast includes pork roast, milky yellow, pumpkin cake, and Western breakfast is radish and egg fried rice.

For lunch, there are two choices for Business Class passengers, that are chicken rice and Yibin burning noodles. Economy Class passengers are served with two options, that are chicken rice and beef noodles, with small portions of fruit and bread.

Lighting and shadow effects



It is worth noting that the LED light strip on the top of the cabin is equipped with seven-color lighting effects, which are distinguished by function. Before take-off and landing, climbing and descending, dining, cruising, and rest periods, there will be different light and shadow effects, long-distance flight. There will be a wake-up effect after the event, and there will be a hidden egg effect when encountering a major holiday - Aurora.

Safety and Efficiency

Feng Jiangtao, the captain of the flight and the aerospace safety director of the flight, said in an interview that the safety and economy of the Boeing 787 has been greatly improved compared with the previous generation models, and the fuel efficiency has increased by 25% compared with similar models. The efficiency is improved by 30-40 minutes on the same voyage and the ETOPS certification is 330 minutes (330 minutes in the case of a single engine stop).

Flight Plans

According to Juneyao Air, since 8 December 2018, the two 787-9 aircraft owned by Juneyao Air will operate on Shanghai Hongqiao-Chengdu and Shanghai Hongqiao-Shenzhen routes.

In addition, the Dreamliner  aircraft will begin flights to Chongqing and Sanya from January 2019. On 1 February 2019, flights will link Shanghai Pudong with Changi and Taoyuan and the intercontinental route to Helsinki will be launched in June 2019.

Juneyao Air has a total order of 10 Dreamliners, including the first two Dreamliners that were received in 2018. It will receive the remaining 8 Dreamliners by 2020 to launch long-haul flights to Australia, North America and Europe.
