AirAsia launches direct flight to Phu Quoc on 2 November 2018

AirAsia Berhad launches its first scheduled flight to Phu Quoc from Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (KLIA2) in Sepang on 2 November 2018 using its Airbus A320 aircraft. It will fly between KLIA2 and Phu Quoc on Fridays, Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays.

On 2 November 2018, AirAsia flight AK545 departs from KLIA2 for Phu Quoc at 12.50 pm, arrives in Phu Quoc at 1.35 pm before leaving Phu Quoc for KLIA2 at 2.05 pm and arriving in KLIA2 at 4.55 pm under flight AK546.

One-way promotion fare starts from 43.61 Singapore Dollars. Singapore passengers can connect to Phu Quoc via KLIA2 without clearing Malaysian customs and immigration. There are no direct flights from Singapore to Phu Quoc after Vietnam Airlines stopped operating services on the route in 2016 due to insufficient passenger numbers.

Phu Quoc is the fifth Vietnamese destination on AirAsia Group's route network after Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Danang and Cam Ranh. Famous for fish sauce manufacturing and black pepper cultivation, other local sights to behold in Phu Quoc besides Phu Quoc Airport  and beaches include Duong Duong Market, Dinh Cau Temple, Sung Hung Pagoda, Nguyen Trung Truc Temple, the fishermen's village and Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resorts.

There are ferry services to Rach Gia and Ha Tien in Vietnam from Phu Quoc and convenient flight connections to Rach Gia, Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City.
