According to the news leak by KC International Airlines (KC Air, in short) days after the airline receives its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) in Phnom Penh on 2 August 2018, the Cambodian airline has decided its official scheduled flight launch date will be 31 August 2018.
Previously, KC Air applied to launch flights from Phnom Penh to Bangkok and Siem Reap on 1 and 2 August 2018 but these flights are impossible with the late AOC grant.
Now, it is the KC Air management decision to station its existing A320 aircraft, currently based at Phnom Penh International Airport, in Sihanoukville to open the airline's first scheduled flight route, Sihanoukville to Macau. This route is extended to Danang in the afternoon of 31 August 2018 before the aircraft returns to Sihanoukville for the domestic flight to Phnom Penh in the evening.
According to the official ticketing schedules that may be subject to unforeseen adjustments, KC Air flight 3Q710 departs from Sihanoukville for Macau on 31 August 2018 at 9 am, arrives in Macau at 12.55 pm before leaving Macau for Danang at 1.50 pm and touching down in Danang at 2.45 pm.
At 3.55 pm, flight 3Q711 leaves Danang for Macau, lands in Macau at 6.35 pm before departing from Macau for Sihanoukville at 7.25 pm and arriving in Sihanoukville at 9.20 pm.
At 10.10 pm on 31 August 2018, the same aircraft under flight 3Q100 takes off from Sihanoukville for Phnom Penh and touches down in Phnom Penh at 10.55 pm local time for overnight taxiing.
At 7.25 am on 1 September 2018, the A320 aircraft under flight 3Q101 departs from Phnom Penh for Sihanoukville before landing in Sihanoukville at 8.10 am.
KC Air departs from Sihanouville for Danang via Macau on Fridays, Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays while its flights from Sihanoukville to Phnom Penh are on Fridays and its flights from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville are on Saturdays.
On 2 September 2018, KC Air launches its first scheduled flight to Cam Ranh from Sihanoukville via Macau. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, flight 3Q700 departs from Sihanoukville for Macau at the usual time as the flight on other days of the week and arrives in Macau at 12.55 pm. One hour later, flight 3Q700 leaves Macau for Cam Ranh at 1.50 pm and touches down in Cam Ranh Airport Terminal 2 to pick up Macau-bound passengers at 3.15 pm.
At 4.20 pm, flight 3Q701 leaves Cam Ranh at 4.20 pm for Macau, arrives in Macau at 7.40 pm before departing from Macau for Sihanouville at 8.35 pm and arriving in Sihanoukville at 10.30 pm.
Despite the revision of flight routes for the initial launches, KC Air has intention to launch scheduled flights to Bangkok and Siem Reap while its inaugural flight to Chiang Mai from Phnom Penh is planned on 19 September 2018, and is subject to regulatory approval. In due course, it has plans to launch scheduled flights to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Taoyuan, China cities, Manila, South Korea and Japan. It aims to own a fleet of 25 Airbus A320 series aircraft within the next five years.
KC International Airlines is the Chinese-Cambodian private joint venture airline that has completed its test and crew training flights in July 2018.
