Cambodia's private airlines, namely JC International Airlines and Lanmei Airlines, have suspended scheduled flight services to Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 4.
JC International Airlines cites aircraft operation redeployment on other routes and competition on its routes from Lanmei Airlines, Jetstar Asia, SilkAir and Bangkok Airways as reasons for suspending flights to Singapore. It has also suspended flights to Kuala Lumpur from Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville while resuming flights to Huai'an and starting flights to Chongqing and Guiyang, for instance.
Lanmei Airlines cites "poor passenger demand" as reason for the Singapore flight cancellations although lack of marketing activities in the Singapore travel market is the motivator for the cancellations. The airline has also suspended flights to Ho Chi Minh City for the same reason.
Lanmei Airlines continues to operate international flights to Suvarnabhumi, Hanoi, Hong Kong, Koror, Male, Macau while its domestic flight operations remain normal. It has increased flights from Siem Reap and Phnom Penh to China by opening new routes to Shijiazhuang, Tianjin (since 17 July 2018), Changsha, Xi'an Xianyang, Guiyang, Nanning, Jieyang and Guangzhou.
Meanwhile, startup airline KC International Airlines (or KC Air) has deferred its inaugural flights to Bangkok and Siem Reap till further notice. Chinese aviation news web-site Carnoc suggests KC Air may also fly from Sihanoukville to Macau and from Macau to Cam Ranh and Danang in August 2018.
