According to Hokkaido's airline Air Do, it commemorates its 20th Anniversary of flight operations on 20 December 2018.
On 20 December 1998, Air Do begins its first inaugural scheduled flight on the Haneda - Sapporo route. Today, it operates flights as well from Haneda to Asahikawa, Hakodate, Kushiro, Memanbetsu, Obihiro, from Sapporo to Hiroshima, Kobe, Nagoya-Centrair, Sendai, Haneda and from Hakodate to Nagoya-Centrair and Haneda using a fleet of 9 Boeing B737-700, 2 B767-300 and 2 B767-300ER aircraft.
Air Do has begun distributing aircraft stickers to the public and organized photography contests as part of its celebrations to commemorate its 20th Anniversary of flight operations. To increase profits and pave the path for future growth, it is studying the feasibility of opening new domestic routes, considering and evaluating plans to launch international charter flights to cities outside Japan, such as Seoul, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Taoyuan, Taipei, Shanghai and Singapore from Hokkaido airports such as Sapporo, Asahikawa and Memanbetsu between this year and 2020.
Air Do is the first low-cost airline of Japan with its headquarters based in Sapporo and air hubs in Haneda, Sapporo and Hakodate. Investors in Air Do include the Development Bank of Japan and All Nippon Airways.
