Kella Lalbagh or Lalbagh Fort is located in Dhaka. It is one of the symbols of Dhaka.

Lalbagh Fort or Kella Lalbagh was constructed by Prince Azam, son of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1678 but the fort construction was abandoned in 1684 by Mughal Subadar Shaista Khan.

The partially-completed fort compound of Kella Lalbagh consists of a two-storeyed elegant audience hall now a museum, tombs of Khodaband the lieutenant of Mughal Subadar Shaista Khan and Bibi Pari, Shaista Khan's daughter, a three-domed mosque and an empty tank with 3 gatherings at different points of its surviving defence wall. The tank is only filled with water if there is a devastating flood in Dhaka.

Visiting the Lego park-like fort is best under hot weather for great scenic photography but please bring your own water and food as there is nothing to buy to quench thirst and eat inside the fort compound.

There should be a flat entrance fee to all visitors because the fort management discriminates visitors according to nationality. Visitors from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and the Maldives only pay 100 Taka while visitors of other countries have to pay 200 Taka for entering the Fort.
