Jiangxi Airlines to commence operations by June 2015

Jiangxi Airlines, a new joint-venture airline of XiamenAir and provincial state-owned Jiangxi Aviation Investment Company Limited based in Nanchang, aims to commence scheduled domestic flight operations by June 2015. The joint-venture news was revealed to Sayacinta - Airpost as Nanchang Airport witnesses its first Nanjing - Nanchang - Nanning cargo flight by China Postal Airlines on 3 September 2014.


Jiangxi Airlines' flights during the first two years will be from Nanchang to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu and other cities in China before the route network expands to include international scheduled flights from Nanchang to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Suvarnabhumi, Seoul-Incheon, Japan and in the long run to Europe, North America and Australia.

XiamenAir which celebrates 30th Anniversary this year holds a stake of 60 per cent in Jiangxi Airlines while Jiangxi Aviation Investment Company Limited holds the remaining stake balance of 40 per cent in the Nanchang-based carrier.

XiamenAir will provide Jiangxi Airlines with the required safety and operations management through its Nanchang Branch Company expertise while the Provincial Government of Jiangxi will provide financial, resource and authorization support to Jiangxi Airlines through Jiangxi Aviation Investment Company Limited. Jiangxi Airlines will lease B737 aircraft from XiamenAir for its flights.

Jiangxi Aviation Investment Company Limited is a local conglomerate formed and registered on 26 February 2014 with the provincial Government. Its investors include Provincial Railway Investment Group, Jiangxi Investment Group, Fanyang Lake Finance Investment and Leasing Company and Nanchang Tourism Group Company. It is currently recruiting expertise to work in Nanchang as it prepares for the launch of Jiangxi Airlines next year.
