Air Astana launches scheduled flights between Astana and Bangkok from 15 December 2014

Air Astana, which won the Best Airline for Central Asia and India 2014 Award from Skytrax for the third consecutive year in July 2014, is launching direct scheduled flights from Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan, to its first Southeast Asian destination, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, from 15 December 2014.

On 15 December 2014, an Air Astana Boeing B767 aircraft under flight KC231 departs from Astana at 1.35 am and arrives in Suvarnabhumi at 9.55 am before it takes off under KC232 at 11.05 am and touches down in Astana at 6 pm.

In Astana, tourists will be amazed with ultra modern architecture of different shapes be they oval, trapezoid or ship-shaped. Astana's symbols include the Baiterek Tower, the Peace Pyramid and the Khan-Shatyr shopping mall which mirrors the design of the traditional Kazakh house. Explore its famous Central Asian food alley to taste the varieties of Central Asian and Russian/CIS cuisines. 260 km away from Astana, enjoy spa and receive medical treatment in the lakeside wooden residences of the Borovoye district.

Air Astana provides stopover package programs to customers for Astana and Almaty travels. The airline operates domestic and international flights from Astana and Almaty, the financial and commercial capital of Kazakhstan. Currently it operates direct flights from Almaty to Suvarnabhumi, Ho Chi Minh City and Kuala Lumpur in Southeast Asia and East Asia flights to Hong Kong, Beijing Capital and Seoul-Incheon.

As of 15 July 2014, citizens of Malaysia, Japan, the UK and the US do not require entry visas as long as they do not stay more than 15 days in Kazakhstan. Singaporeans still require visa for entry into Kazakhstan.
