XiamenAir which has a code-sharing arrangement with Garuda Indonesia on the Singapore-Jakarta route of the latter carrier is adding a new flight frequency on its Singapore-Xiamen route in July 2014.

From 26 July 2014 till 26 October 2014, XiamenAir operates a wee-hour flight to Xiamen from Singapore. It departs from Singapore at 4.10 am for Xiamen, arriving in Xiamen at 8.15 am on 26 July under flight MF814. It takes off for Singapore at 11 pm under MF813 and touches down in Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 1 at 3.10 am on 27 July.

XiamenAir Singapore web-site is selling budget fares for the new service starting from 150 Singapore Dollars one-way excluding taxes today. With the new service, XiamenAir operates three times daily between Singapore and Xiamen from 26 July.

The new flight frequency allows passengers from Singapore to connect at Xiamen Gaoqi Airport for scheduled flights to other parts of China as well as its new Korean destination, Jeju. XiamenAir launched its third Korean route to Jeju from Xiamen on 15 April 2014. The carrier's second Korean route is from Fuzhou, operational since 2 April.

Flights from Xiamen to Jeju on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays will be operated on a daily basis from 1 July 2014, departing from Xiamen at 3 pm, arriving in Jeju at 5.05 pm and taking off for Xiamen at 6 pm, touching down in Xiamen at 8.10 pm.

Besides Jeju, XiamenAir plans to introduce new flights from Xiamen to Tokyo, Phnom Penh, Ho Chi Minh City and Manila in the medium term, and in the long-run launch international flights to Australia, North America and Europe. In July, it will receive its first B787 Dreamliner aircraft which will be deployed initially on its domestic routes.

The budget fares offered by XiamenAir on the Singapore-Xiamen route and the new services to Jeju will surely attract more China- and Korea-bound tourists and businessmen from Singapore and Jakarta.
