Turkish Airlines is the latest airline to launch fifth-freedom flight to Melbourne from a foreign destination via Changi. On 15 March 2024, the airline's 787-9 Dreamliner begins its inaugural scheduled flight to Melbourne from Istanbul via Changi.
On 15 March 2024, Turkish Airlines flight TK168 departs from Istanbul for Melbourne via Changi at 5 pm, stops over in Changi on 16 March 2024 at 8.45 am before leaving Changi for Melbourne at 10.15 am and landing in Melbourne at 7.40 pm
On the same day of 16 March 2024, flight TK169 takes off from Melbourne for Changi at 9.20 pm, touches down in Changi at 2.50 am on 17 March 2024 before leaving Changi for Istanbul at 4.30 am and arriving in Istanbul at 10.40 am on 18 March 2024.
For the fifth-freedom flights, Turkish Airlines flies to Melbourne via Changi on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays while it flies to Melbourne from Changi and vice versa on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays.
Turkish Airlines flies to the above destination airports with its Airbus A350-900XWB from 2 April 2024.
