From 26 June 2023, RwandAir's direct flight from Kigali to Mumbai will route via Mombasa, a coastal city in southeastern Kenya along the Indian Ocean, marking Mombasa's first direct flight to India, Asia.
According to schedules, on 26 June 2023, RwandAir flight WB500 departs from Kigali for Mumbai via Mombasa at 11.40 pm, stops over in Mombasa at 2.20 am before leaving Mombasa for Mumbai at 3 am and touching down in Mumbai at 11.30 am on 27 June 2023.
The outbound flight from Mumbai towards Mombasa and Kigali, WB501, takes off at 12.30 pm on 27 June 2023, stops over in Mombasa at 4 am local time before departing from Mombasa for Kigali at 5 am and arriving in Kigali at 5.50 am local time on 28 June 2023.
RwandAir flies to Mumbai via Mombasa with B737-800 aircraft on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and the route is the longest long-haul passenger route ever undertaken by the aircraft.
