Vietnam Airlines adds second daily flight to Changi from Hanoi from 15 June 2023

Vietnam Airlines is adding its second daily scheduled flight to Changi from Hanoi from 15 June 2023 as part of the airline's Asia-regional flight service adjustments to meet increase in Vietnamese travel demand.

On 15 June 2023, Vietnam Airlines flight VN663 departs from Hanoi for Changi at 10.35 am, touches down in Changi at 2.50 pm before taking off from Changi for Hanoi at 3.50 pm and arriving in Hanoi at 6.30 pm local time under flight VN662.

The above services are operated by Vietnam Airlines' Airbus A321 or A321neo aircraft. Occasionally, its 787-9 or 787-10 Dreamliner jets may be utilised on the route.

Currently, Vietnam Airlines operates flight VN661 with its A321 touching down in Changi at 11.55 am and if the Dreamliner aircraft were deployed on Tuesdays, arrival time would be 12.25 pm, subject to air traffic condition and wind direction around Changi.

Vietnam Airlines also operates A321 or A321neo flights to Changi from Ho Chi Minh City and on 19 May 2023, one of its A350-900XWB wide-body aircraft operates its once-only commercial flight to Changi under flight VN655.

One of the 14 A350-900XWB aircraft of Vietnam Airlines is deployed frequently on the routes from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, Danang and Phu Quoc while the other A350 jets serve airports such as Nagoya Chubu, Incheon, Melbourne, Pudong and from June 2023, Narita and Beijing Capital.  

Sayacinta-Airpost reporter has suggested to Vietnam Airlines to consider deploying the A350 jet on the routes to Changi from either Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City to meet increasing travel demand for wide-body aircraft travel. At present, Singapore Airlines' A350-900XWB operates scheduled flights between Changi and Hanoi under SQ192/SQ193 and between Changi and Ho Chi Minh City under SQ178/SQ177.

Vietnam Airlines currently operates scheduled flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Changi. New commercial services from Danang, Cam Ranh and Phu Quoc to Changi that were previously announced were cancelled at last minute.
