Hainan Airlines resumes flight to Suvarnabhumi on 20 February 2023, Changi may be next in March 2023

At 9.19 am on 20 February 2023, Hainan Airlines' Haikou-Suvarnabhumi direct flight HU7939 took off from Haikou Meilan International Airport smoothly. This is Hainan Airlines' first international route departing from Hainan during the pandemic.

Hainan Airlines currently flies to Suvarnabhumi on Mondays. From the first week of March 2023, it flies every Thursday and Saturday to Suvarnabhumi with its B737-800 aircraft.

According to schedules, Hainan Airlines flight HU7939 departs from Haikou Meilan International Airport at 9.05 am and arrives in Suvarnabhumi at 10.30 am local time, with a flight time of 2 hours and 25 minutes while the return flight HU7940 departs from Suvarnabhumi at 11.30 am local time and touches down in Haikou at 2.45 pm. The flight time is 2 hours and 15 minutes. 

As the main base airline company of Hainan, Hainan Airlines is actively helping develop the Hainan Free Trade Port. The relaunch of the Haikou-Bangkok direct flight plays an important role in the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port. It strengthens the business, economic, trade and tourism exchanges between China and Thailand.

In March 2023, Hainan Airlines also plans to re-open the Haikou-Changi route and Haikou-Macau route. These routes will connect to Hainan Airlines' rich domestic route network, and gradually form a domestic and international efficient interactive route network with Haikou as the hub.

In addition, Hainan Airlines, that resumes the Haikou-Hong Kong route on 16 November 2022, is increasing the frequency to one flight per day from 26 March 2023.
