Starlux Airlines passes fifty-hour flight assessment on 29 November 2019

Taiwan’s civil aviation authority confirmed on 29 November 2019 that Starlux Airlines has completed and passed the fifty-hour verification flight assessment and will send the relevant documents to the transportation department as soon as after 1 December 2019. Only after the civil aviation transportation permit has been issued, tickets can be sold externally.

The fifty-hour verification flight of Starlux from Taoyuan covers Macau, Danang and Penang. The three scheduled destinations for the first flight day have been verified and passed the relevant assessments.  Relevant documents can be sent to the transportation department as soon as 2 December 2019. After the civil air transport industry license is issued, only then Starlux Airlines can officially operate and sell tickets.

Starlux Airlines said that after the company has obtained the civil aviation transportation permit, the cooperating travel agencies can start to sell group tickets in advance. As for the company's official website, ticket sales will be in mid-to-late December 2019. This is because the airline has to formally apply for a radio communication code from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and a code for flight numbering and reservation ticketing from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Starlux Airlines plans to launch commercial flights to Macau, Danang and Penang on 23 January 2020.
