According to Simpleflying, SpiceJet announced plans to add 10 aircraft by the end of November 2024 year to cope with the peak demand at the end of the year and the festive season. Of these, seven aircraft will be obtained through leasing, and the other three will be put back into service from the previously grounded fleet.
SpiceJet recently raised 30 billion rupees through institutional placement, attracting top companies such as Morgan Stanley Asia, Goldman Sachs (Singapore) and Tata Mutual Fund. The airline directly linked the resumption of operations with financing, saying that the new capital will play a key role in restoring existing aircraft, purchasing new aircraft, investing in technology and expanding new markets.
SpiceJet Chairman and Managing Director Ajay Singh said that the airline will continue to meet the growing demand for air travel while strengthening its operational capabilities. "With this financing, SpiceJet has the ability to provide better services and expand its route network. We are committed to providing seamless, reliable and affordable travel."
