Myanmar Airways International (MAI) launches non-stop scheduled flight from Yangon to Taoyuan, the international gateway to Taipei, Taiwan, on 25 November 2022 with its Embraer ERJ190 aircraft.
On 25 November 2022, MAI flight 8M700 takes off from Yangon for Taoyuan at 9 pm, touches down in Taoyuan at 2.45 am on 26 November 2022 before leaving Taoyuan for Yangon at 3.45 am and arriving in Yangon at 6.25 am on 26 November.
The Yangon-Taoyuan flight lasts for 4 hours 15 minutes while the Taoyuan-Yangon flight lasts for 4 hours 10 minutes. The return flight operates on Fridays.
25 November 2022 is the historic date for Taoyuan airport as the ERJ190 is the first Embraer aircraft to land in Taiwan and MAI is the first foreign airline to launch flight to Taoyuan in 2022. For MAI, the flight to Taoyuan sets the longest flight distance record for its ERJ190.
MAI is the fastest-growing Burmese airline despite the anti-coup civil war in Myanmar.
