According to the revised schedules, the outbound Conviasa flight departs from Caracas for Guangzhou via Tehran at 10 pm on 30 July 2022, touches down in Tehran at 1.30 pm on 31 July 2022 before taking off later for Guangzhou and arriving in Guangzhou at 7 pm on 31 July.
The outbound Conviasa flight leaves Guangzhou for Caracas via Tehran at 4 pm on 1 August 2022, transits in Tehran before leaving Tehran at 8.30 am for Caracas on 2 August 2022 and touching down in Caracas at 1.30 pm on 3 August 2022.
Conviasa's A340-300 begins flying to Tehran on 30 July 2022 on a commercial scheduled basis although it began its test flight to Tehran way back on 18 June 2022. The flight to Tehran is on Saturdays while the flight to Guangzhou from Tehran takes place on Sundays.
Flights leaving Tehran for Caracas are on Tuesdays. Therefore the Conviasa A340 flights bound for Tehran from Guangzhou on Mondays.
According to SimpleFlying, Conviasa A340-300 (registered YV3507) first arrives in Caracas from Tehran on 31 December 2021 after being reconditioned and painted in Tehran. It is a 23.2-years-old jet which was operated before by Air China, Cathay Pacific Airways and Avior. The airline has plans to take on three A340-500 jets to expand its route network to other parts of Asia and Europe.
Conviasa is the first Latin American airline to launch commercial flights to Guangzhou in 2022 ahead of Uganda Airlines, that has recently secured its landing permit from CAAC to operate future direct A330-800 flights to Guangzhou from Entebbe, but it is the second foreign airline to launch weekly flight to Guangzhou after Air Peace.
Presently, Mahan Air operates direct scheduled flights between Guangzhou and Tehran.
