China Airlines officially participates in The Pokémon Company's "Flying Pikachu Project". The Pokémon Company director Fukunaga Jin and China Airlines general manager Gao Xinghuang jointly announced on 27 July 2022 the launch of China Airlines "Pikachu-livery aircraft CI" with the theme of Pokémon. It is the first Pokémon-livery aircraft in Taiwan. It accompanies passengers to return to the sky after the epidemic and travel around the world freely.

The fuselage of the "Pikachu Painter CI" was designed exclusively for China Airlines by The Pokémon Company. The background colour of the fuselage matches the corporate identity colour of China Airlines and the red plum blossom of the aircraft tail. Pink orange, pink and pink purple are used to stack, and the gradients create a dawn.
