China Eastern's very-own low-cost airline subsidiary headquartered in Shanghai Hongqiao, OTT Airlines, has received its first ARJ21-700 airliner on 28 June 2020. It has a configuration of 90 Economy Class seats.
OTT Airlines, which is a new start-up, plans to utilize the ARJ21-700 on its future routes from Shanghai Hongqiao to cities in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui Provinces.
Formed on 26 February 2020 by renaming its business jet subsidiary China Eastern Jet, OTT Airlines plans to induct three more ARJ21-700 aircraft in 2020. By 2021, it aims to own 6 ARJ21-700s, 8 ARJ21-700s in 2022 and 35 ARJ21-700s by 2025.
OTT Airlines will also own the Comac C919 aircraft.
