U-Fly Alliance low-cost airline member Urumqi Air has applied to CAAC to open international flights to Central Asia and Siberia. It plans to launch its first international flight to Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan by June 2018, to Irkutsk and Yekaterinburg by July 2018 and to Novosirbirsk in Siberia by August 2018.

The B737-800 or E190 aircraft will be used to operate on the route from Urumqi to Novosibirsk while the flagship B737-800 aircraft will serve other international routes of Urumqi Air from Urumqi. All flights will operate twice weekly.

Urumqi Air will announce inaugural flight dates in due course if the plans were approved by CAAC.
