At 10.07 pm on 7 October 2025, Thai Lion Air flight SL8980, carrying 167 passengers, landed safely at Enshi Xujiaping International Airport, marking the successful inaugural Enshi-Don Mueang international route. This marks another significant step forward in expanding Enshi's Asian route network, following the launch of its route to Incheon, and signifies the continued expansion and upgrading of Enshi's international flight connections.

The route, operated by Thai Lion Air using a Boeing 737-900ER aircraft, features three flights every two weeks. Flights operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays on odd-numbered weeks and on Thursdays on even-numbered weeks. Flight numbers SL8980/8981 are: Don Mueang-Enshi 5.10 pm - 8.30 pm, and Enshi-Don Mueang 9.30 pm - 12.50 am.

The inaugural flight primarily carries tourists from Thailand and neighbouring countries, who plan to fully experience Enshi's natural and cultural tourism resources. The opening of this route not only provides a new option for Chinese and foreign tourists to travel during the "Double Festivals", but also builds a convenient bridge for economic, trade and cultural exchanges between Enshi and Southeast Asia.
