The number B-00101 "flying test aircraft" belonging to the Civil Aviation Administration was damaged on 17 June 2019. Although it was repaired, the results of the flight test were disputed. The results of the flight test were very controversial. For the consideration of flight safety, the Civil Aviation Administration decided to hold an international bid for the flight test mission. In the end, ACAM Flight Calibration Services of Singapore won the bid. The T7-CAL Beechcraft 300 Super King Air belongs to it for the past few days.

The flying test plane from Singapore appeared non-stop at airports such as Songshan, Qingquangang, Hualien, and Xiaogang. It continuously circled the airspace around the airports for flying tests. The red and white fuselage livery is quite eye-catching, attracting the attention of many people and aviation fans.

In the past few days, the T7-CAL Beechcraft 300 Super King Air aerial survey aircraft has appeared in the airspace of Hualien, using military and civil aircraft combat readiness and training gaps to perform various sophisticated flight test subjects. After learning about it, many aviation fans made a special trip from all over the country to Hualien to take pictures of the heroic and beautiful scenes in the air, especially the rare low-altitude rush on the airport runway, which made people exclaim again and again, "It's more interesting than the F-16 fighter!".

Officials from the Civil Aviation Administration pointed out that at about 9 am on 17 June 2019, when Daily Air was maintaining the helicopter in the shed of Songshan Airport, the gas cylinder was ejected due to improper operation, causing damage to the flaps of the flight test aircraft of the Civil Aviation Administration. People were injured, but this made the flight test plane unable to perform its mission. Although it was repaired and the flight test was resumed, the ground station had a lot of opinions on the flight test results of the flight test plane several times, and worried that it would affect the safety of the aircraft when it took off and landed. The bureau finally decided to open an international bid. In the end, ACAM Flight Calibration Services from Singapore stood out and won the bid with about NT$20 million.

The task of this flying test aircraft is mainly to carry out flight test tasks after the replacement of the ILS (Instrument Landing System) including Songshan, Hualien and Kaohsiung airports. The original ILS of these three airports have reached the 10-year life limit , the upgrade and refitting were completed last year, but it can only be used after passing the test of the flight test aircraft. However, the standard group of the Civil Aviation Administration assessed that the conditions for the damaged flight test aircraft were insufficient and could not achieve the ILS flight test task. It is recommended to open an international standard of carrying out the flying test of 3 sets of ILS.

The Instrument Landing System (ILS for short), commonly known as "ILS", is currently the most widely used aircraft precision approach and landing guidance system. 1. The safe landing of civil aircraft mainly uses radio signals and high-intensity light arrays to provide a ground instrument approach system that is precisely guided when the aircraft lands. This system must ensure absolute accuracy. , both require the flight tester to calibrate and verify the key parameters of the ILS.

Officials pointed out that the main work of the flying test aircraft is FLY CHECK in English. Civil aviation aircraft are collectively referred to as "flying test aircraft", while the Air Force has a "checking aircraft" with basically the same functions. It is mainly used for routing and navigation aids. Testing and calibration, including temporary failures in some facilities, must be tested by a flight tester before they can be used by civil aviation aircraft. Due to the different test periods of various facilities, there is no certain cycle for the use and duty of the flying test aircraft, but generally speaking, it needs to perform duties about 3 to 5 times a week. Cooperate with the Air Force's "checking machine" to fly on behalf of the military and civilians to work together to maintain the flight safety of domestic airports in Taiwan.
