According to FlightRadar24 and Flight Aware, Myanmar Airways International (MAI) launches its first charter flight to Sihanoukville's Sihanouk Airport on 26 January 2022 with its Embraer E190LR aircraft.
On 26 January 2022, MAI flight 8M401 departs from Yangon for Sihanouk at 3.30 pm, touches down in Sihanouk at 5.45 pm before leaving Sihanouk for Yangon at 8 pm and arriving in Yangon at 10 pm under flight 8M402.
MAI has not resumed passenger revenue flights to the world yet. It continues to operate scheduled relief flights from Yangon to KLIA, Suvarnabhumi, Incheon and Dubai. Until 30 January 2022, there are no cargo flights to Singapore. The Sihanouk flight is MAI's first resumption route to Cambodia during the pandemic.
Sihanouk is the international airport name of Sihanoukville, the harbour city of Cambodia.
Singapore, Phnom Penh, Guangzhou and Kolkata remain suspended on its list of passenger flights until further notice.
