MIAT Mongolian Airlines preparing for direct flights to the U.S.

According to Mongolian news agency Montsame, MIAT Mongolian Airlines is ensuring preparations to conduct direct flights to the U.S. from Ulaanbaatar.

MIAT representatives at the meeting with the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia (MCAA) on 4 November 2021 introduced the progress and implementation of the works being carried out by the company including a comparative study on using the 787 Dreamliner for long distance flights, profits, and the latest updates on other operations.

Montsame did not reveal MIAT's latest updates.

Currently, MIAT has only international charter flights to destinations such as Incheon, Frankfurt and ad hoc once-monthly scheduled flights to Singapore, Hanoi, Darwin, Brisbane and London Heathrow.

MIAT has yet to receive its first leased 787 Dreamliner. All MIAT international flights are operated by its B767-300ER and B737-800 jets.
