Breeze Airways to own up to 80 Airbus A220-300 jets

Breeze Airways unveiled its new Airbus A220-300 aircraft camouflage. At the same time, it announced that it has confirmed the purchase of 20 additional aircraft of this type, bringing the total number of orders for A220-300 aircraft to 80, of which the first aircraft will be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2021.

The new painting of the aircraft was sprayed on Airbus's final assembly line in Mobile, Alabama. For the next six and a half years, Breeze Airways will receive an A220-300 aircraft from Mobile on average every month. The company plans to begin operations of its Airbus fleet in the second quarter of 2022.

The excellent efficiency of the Airbus A220 aircraft will support the new airline’s business goals to provide passengers with an outstanding travel experience with low fares and high flexibility. Breeze Airways will provide nonstop nonstop flights across the United States at a discounted fare.

Breeze Airlines starts operations in May 2021. The first A220 aircraft unveiled this time will be the first new aircraft operated by the company.

Airbus A220 aircraft is designed and manufactured specifically for the 100 to 150 seat market. Not only can it provide superior fuel efficiency, as a single-aisle aircraft, it can also provide true wide-body aircraft-level comfort. With advanced aerodynamic design, advanced materials and Pratt & Whitney's new generation of PW1500G gear transmission turbofan engine. Thanks to the application of many new technologies, the A220 aircraft has the characteristics of being quiet, clean and environmentally friendly. Compared with the previous generation aircraft, the A220’s noise footprint has been reduced by 50%, the average fuel consumption per seat can be reduced by 25%, and the nitrogen oxide emissions are 50% lower than the industry standard. It is an aircraft that is very suitable for urban operations.

So far, more than 170 A220 aircraft have been delivered to 10 operators in Asia, North America, Europe and Africa, proving the outstanding versatility of this new member of the Airbus family.
