Lao Airlines' flight suspension notice reveals quarantine budget in China

Lao Airlines has issued its official flight suspension notice on 20 March 2020. The notice states the average cost of each traveler quarantine budget in Guangzhou and Kunming, 2000 US Dollars, for a period of 14 days as part of China's entry requirements to these cities.

Between 20 March and 30 March 2020, Lao Airlines reduced flight frequencies to Guangzhou to Tuesdays and Saturdays while it flew on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays to Kunming from Vientiane. From 30 March 2020, these flights as well as flights to Changsha and Chengdu are suspended.

The Lao national flag carrier has suspended flights to Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Xishuangbanna, Hangzhou, Incheon, Wenzhou, Pudong and Changzhou until 30 April 2020 while its flights to Suvarnabhumi and Chiang Mai will be resumed on 21 April 2020.

Its resumption flight to Danang has been postponed until further notice. Domestic flights have halted.

Lao Airlines plans to resume flights to Changsha, Chengdu, Guangzhou and Kunming from 20 April 2020 as Laos is under "lockdown" until 19 April 2020 to control the spread of COVID-19.

As of 1 April 2020, Laos has reported 9 confirmed covid cases in Vientiane.
