Scoot, short for Scoot Tigerair Pte Ltd, announced at Tourism Expo Japan 2017 that it plans to launch scheduled flight to Honolulu from Singapore via Osaka Kansai in December 2017. The plan was indicated on the carrier's Japanese flight schedule route map besides the non-stop flight to Sapporo from Singapore. However, Scoot has yet to roll out the Honolulu flight schedules on its web-site.

If Scoot got regulatory approval to launch flight to Honolulu via Japan on a fifth-freedom right basis, some flights to Osaka Kansai will go non-stop or may be operated on certain days of each week so that passengers need not transit in Kaohsiung for their onward flights to Osaka.

At Tourism Expo Japan, Scoot's customers in Japan stood to gain free air tickets and free stationery by completing Scoot's advertisement cards depicting a small Scoot Dreamliner aircraft.

Tourism Expo Japan is the only major tourism and travel market where Scoot has exhibited its flight services since 2016.
