Vietjet Air becomes the second Southeast Asia airline to launch scheduled flight to Western Sydney, after Singapore Airlines, on 9 January 2027.
According to planned schedules, from 9 January 2027, Vietjet Air flight VJ87 departs from Ho Chi Minh City for Western Sydney at 9.25 pm, touches down in Western Sydney at 10 am on 10 January 2027 before leaving Western Sydney for Ho Chi Minh City at 12.05 pm and landing in Ho Chi Minh City under flight VJ88 at 4.30 pm.
Vietjet Air flies to Western Sydney on Tuesdays and Saturdays with its A330-300 jet and returns to Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesdays and Sundays.
The above schedules and airport of departure origin in Vietnam are subject to changes as Long Thanh airport aims to open officially for long-haul flight operations in December 2026.
Vietjet Air has yet to confirm if the new flights to Western Sydney and existing flights to Sydney will operate from Long Thanh or Tan Son Nhat but the existing flights to Sydney will be reduced to thrice a week from 11 January 2027.
