FlyArystan, Kazakhstan's leading low-cost airline, has officially announced the launch of a direct international route between Almaty and Chongqing. This will be FlyArystan's fifth direct route to China. FlyArystan currently operates international routes from Almaty to Yining and Xi'an Xianyang, and from Astana and Aktau to Urumqi.
The newly launched Almaty-Chongqing direct route officially commences operations on 23 September 2026, with two flights per week using Airbus A320 aircraft. Flights will operate from Almaty to Chongqing every Wednesday and Saturday, and from Chongqing to Almaty every Thursday and Sunday, providing passengers between the two cities with a regular and stable air travel option.
According to schedules, from 23 September 2026, FlyArystan flight FS7869 departs from Almaty for Chongqing at 8.55 pm, touches down in Chongqing at 4.55 am before leaving Chongqing for Almaty under flight FS7870 at 5.55 am and arriving in Almaty at 8.25 am on 24 September 2026.

Chongqing's comprehensive advantages perfectly align with our route development standards. As a major central city in western China, Chongqing previously had no direct flights to Kazakhstan. Thanks to the close cooperation between the civil aviation authorities of both countries, this new cross-border route has been successfully launched, making FlyArystan the first Kazakhstani airline to operate the direct Almaty-Chongqing route.”
The new route offers a one-way flight time of approximately 5 hours, significantly reducing travel time between Kazakhstan and Chongqing and effectively improving the efficiency of travel for people, trade, and cultural exchanges between the two cities.
Almaty is the largest city in Kazakhstan, and its name in Kazakh means "the place that produces apples." It is also the country's economic and cultural center and transportation hub. Almaty has a rich historical heritage, blends the cultural characteristics of multiple ethnic groups, and possesses magnificent natural scenery.
