Double happiness! Changi Airport will not only welcome Air Japan's first official flight to Changi on 26 April 2024, but also the long-awaited entry of Greater Bay Airlines (GBA, in short), Hong Kong's latest budget airline, as one of its new flight operators on the same day.

According to GBA's official web-site, GBA launches daily scheduled flight from Hong Kong to Changi on 26 April 2024 with its B737-800 aircraft.

On 26 April 2024, GBA flight HB257 departs from Hong Kong T1 to Changi at 9.45 am, touches down at Changi T4 at 1.45 pm before leaving Changi T4 for Hong Kong T1 at 2.45 pm and arriving in Hong Kong at 6.45 pm under flight HB258.

The reporter of this news first learns from GBA staff in Suvarnabhumi that the airline plans to announce officially the new route to the press by 1 March 2024 on 26 January 2024 but it is not expected that the airline announces the new route launch instead on 8 February 2024.

Both one-way Hong Kong-Changi fare and Changi-Hong Kong fare start from HK$460.

GBA has taken up the slot at T4 previously allocated to HK Express which suspended flights to Changi in mid-2023.

As of 26 April 2024, GBA flies to seven foreign city airports including Suvarnabhumi, Narita, Kansai, Incheon, Taoyuan and Manila from Hong Kong. It suspended flights to Ho Chi Minh City from 22 February 2024 to concentrate on preparation for the Hong Kong=Changi route sectors.
