According to Solomon Airlines, it has operated its first charter flight to Guangzhou from Biak, Indonesia, on 1 February 2021. This is the first pandemic flight of Solomon Airlines to China.
The flight to Biak is made possible by a ferry flight from Brisbane on 31 January 2021. From Biak to Guangzhou on 1 February 2021, the flight is empty.
In 2022, Solomon Airlines launches the private charter flight to Guangzhou from Honiara via Biak on 6 August 2022.
According to FlightRadar24, Solomon Airlines flight IE635 departs from Honiara for Guangzhou via Biak at 9.45 am, transits in Biak at 11.06 am before taking off for Guangzhou on 6 August 2022. The landing time in Guangzhou is unknown.
On 7 August 2022, flight IE636 left Guangzhou for Biak and arrived in Biak at 3.42 pm before departing from Biak for Honiara at 4.44 pm and touching down in Honiara at 10.19 pm.
The Honiara=Biak=Guangzhou flights are operated by Solomon Airlines' A320 aircraft while Honiara and Guangzhou are the first two international destinations of Biak airport.
